The background that has made me who I am is the time I have spent as a gymnast. It has affected every part of my character from my work ethic, to time management, to my endurance (menatally and physically). It is probably too much a part of my life. I am not sure I could separate myself from the gymnast, which is something that I struggle with leading up to college and the rest of my life. I don't know how I will fill the 20+ hours a week I spend year round training. I don’t know how I will form bonds deeper than those I have with teammates. There will never be another group of people who understand what it means to be a competitive gymnast. How little reward there is for so much blood sweat and tears. And how those little rewards are enough to keep you going for years. No matter when I part with this sport it will always be a part of me.
