Since my freshman year of high school I have been told repeatedly how much junior year sucks. Every year I shrugged it off. Honestly, I don’t think I really felt the weight of the year until we returned to in person school. With the three hour school days, the workload always felt manageable. Not until I was back sitting in the building did I fully feel the weight of a schedule with 5 AP classes. I had forgotten that going from 7 hours of school, to 4.5 hours of gymnastics, to 2 hours of homework was taxing on a person. Regardless, Junior year was one for the books. Through the special circumstances gifted to us by the pandemic, I found some of my closest friends, and learned a new appreciation for those people who I rarely got to see. The worst part of it all is that it’s almost over. I’m not ready to be a senior. Highschool flies by unnecessarily fast when you there is a pandemic keeping you out of school.
