How to Bathe a Dog:

(Especially One That Hates The Bath)

1. Gather your materials. You will need dog shampoo, dog conditioner, towels, and patience.

*Tip* - Wait to bathe your dog until they are all tuckered out, such as after a long walk or play session. It will make things much easier on you.

2. Draw your water to temperature. You don't want it to be too hot or too cold; a good way to test it is to put it on the inside of your wrist. If it is too hot or cold for you, then it is definitely too hot or cold for your dog.

3. Soak your dog completely. If you have a removable shower head you can use that, otherwise just use a bucket or cup.

4. Once your dog is completely soaked, lather them with the dog shampoo. Then, once you've washed their entire body, rinse it off in the same way that you soaked them in step 3.

5. Lather your dog with the dog conditioner, but use less product than you did with the shampoo. Then, rinse it off like in step 3.

6. Once your dog is completely clean, use your hands to squeeze the excess water out of their paws. This will speed up the drying process immensely.

7. Scoop them up with your towel, encompassing them completely.

8. Using a paper towel, gently dry out any excess water from the inside of your dog's ears.

9. Place your dog on a counter or table. Then, turn a hairdryer on the low setting, preferably with warm air (not too hot or cold, just like the water). Calmly blow dry their hair until it is dry to your satisfaction. If you have a short haired dog, this step is optional.

10. Place your dog on the ground, and let them run out all their energy!
