Liau - Assignment 5

I personally like watching TV. In the same way that you can get attached to book characters, you can get attached to TV characters and their actors. I really enjoy watching TV when I know all about the cast and their off-screen friendships. Some of my favorite shows are Greys Anatomy, Bones, Gilmore Girls, Brooklyn 99, Parks and Rec, New Girl, Marvel Agents of Shield, and Criminal Minds. I like all these shows because I love all the actors and actresses, I love most of the characters, and the plots are always interesting. I think TV can be a good form of entertainment if you find a show you really like. I do think that it's a convenient delivery system for marketers. However, a lot of streaming services don't use ads or have ad-free options. I rarely watch actual TV and instead use Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime so I don't see a ton of ads. And when I do, I usually don't pay attention to them. I think it can be a waste of time if you binge a show when you have other work to do. But if you have free time, it can be a good way to relax.
