My freshman year I had to tryout for Henry Clay's soccer team and I was really working to get on junior varsity since I had done so well my eighth grade year. The coaches that year had already wanted to let me play a little bit of junior varsity. Unfortunately, I was not expecting for them to leave and to get a whole new set of coaches. I didn't try as hard as I should've thinking that I would easily get a spot. I made the freshman team and that for me was a failure. Throughout the season I was mad at the coaches since I knew that I was better than a bunch of the kids but I didn't work any harder because I was young and stubborn. At the end of the season I was able to play one junior varsity game and I played very well. Over the summer I worked really hard and the next season I made Junior varsity/varsity. With all the hard work I was able to be one of the only three sophomores to play with varsity.
