Personally, I don't and never have watched TV that much unless it was watching sports so the Emmy's aren't a big deal to me. Recently, I have been watching some shows on Netflix but it's not my favorite thing to do. I also have a difficult time watching some of the shows all the way through because they just get to the point where they're so long they just take up too much time and I'll get invested in something else. I do think the only real purpose of entertainment television is to kill time, but it can be intriguing and fun to watch. If you're watching the news I wouldn't say that's as much of a waste of time but the news broadcasters are just trying to make you watch it more so there's an entertainment aspect to that as well. The same goes for sports though, because at the end of the day they're just trying to have your attention to put ads in your face and make money.
