Traveling has always been a big part of my life, and my favorite part as well. I think it’s always so interesting to go and see how other people live because it gives such a different perspective. When I went to Italy, things like their eating schedules were different, where Americans have three considerably large sized meals a day, in Italy the norm was to have lots of small meals throughout the day and eat dinner much later, around 8 or 9. These experiences have taught me a lot about myself, I love communities that value art, I don’t like jet lag, and I have felt the entitlement and privilege I’ve had as an American. When I went to another country, in my mind I was like of course these people don’t speak English, why should they don’t like in an English speaking country, but most of the time when my family and I went places people did speak English and when they didn’t, it was almost a subconscious shock that really made me think about why I felt that way.
