One of my favorite stories to talk about is the time I went white water rafting with my family. It was several years ago and we were in Colorado on a trip out West. My dad showed us a bunch of videos so we knew what it was and we were all super excited. The thing I remember the most was as the instructor was going over the safety requirements, my dad would whisper over and over to us that there was not chance we would need to know it, it was perfectly safe, we would not flip over. Honestly the odds were that the raft wouldn’t flip, we were on a grade 3 ride of out 5 (1 being very mild-5 mildly dangerous). So we get on our ride and oit;s a blast and the only negative is that my brother won’t stop shouting about how cold it is. And then the raft flipped over. There is just a moment when you’re under the water of the rapids and you think you’re not going to come back up. But soon enough, I floated to the surface and swam to the nearest raft as per the instructions that we did in fact need to know. All in all, flipping out of the raft was probably the best part of that trip. 10/10 recommend.
