One idea I challenged as a child was the idea of politics. While both sides of my family are liberal and I'm extremely liberal, I didn't grow up with politics-loaded topics. My parents never told me what I could or couldn't believe in. However, they also didn't strongly encourage political debate or thinking. As I got older, I learned more about the world and government and politics, and formed my own opinion. I didn't really have a huge parental influence, but there was probably some influence. I started getting more into politics in high school because I realized more about what the world was like. As of now, I'm really into politics and informing myself and others about what's going on in the world. I realize this isn't really what the prompt was asking but I never had a huge idea that I rebelled against. My parents, for the most part, always let me form my own beliefs and decide what I wanted to think.
